A decent talisman is essential for any serious Monster Hunter. Here is how I find my talismans. You can also use this method to find Ancient Shards, the G Rank equivalent of rust shards.
Be warned, this is extremely time consuming. There is no easy way to do this because it’s all luck based. You could do a G-Rank volcano run once and get an awesome talisman with sweet skills, or you could run it 30 times and get talismans you can’t use. So take this with a grain of salt.
I do have charm chaser on my armor so that helps, but not by much. G Rank Arzuros armor gives +6 to charm chaser, so you’ll either need to gem in the rest or find a talisman with at least +4 charmer on it. I have leather armor on in other spots so I can get speed gathering to help with mining.
I tend to keep most of the talismans I find simply because I’m a hoarder and I don’t know if I will ever need a certain skill. Otherwise, it helps if you kind of know what you’re looking for.
note: at the time of this video, I was unaware that harvest tour was incompatible with felyne explorer. Just ignore the part in the video where I say to eat, you don’t even have to.
